Working with my hands and using tools are fundamental to who I am. I use a wide range of materials for my sculpture – cement, clay, felt, found objects, metals, papier mache, plaster and non-toxic resins – and work at different scales according to the project.

Enquiry, experiment and exploration are key to my work. My sculpture frequently contains elements of metamorphosis, such as a bird with a fish's tail or a dress which is a girl dancing with flowers in place of her head. Inherent irony and tension as well as humour and visual puns play an important part too.

Two essentials running through my work are the dynamic between sculpture and viewer. How people react – whether with curiosity, amusement, puzzlement or simply getting the joke - is part of the life of my sculptures and reactions from the audience are vital to my artistic practice.
